Getting to the ceremony
Trains are a good idea: It’s 5 minutes walk from Lewes train station.
If you’re driving, parking can be tricky but there are sometimes spaces on Southover High Street.
Lewes Register Office is here, and we’ll be there from 2:30pm.
Getting to the party
From the ceremony
If you join us at the ceremony, don’t worry, we’ll get you to the party.
By taxi
There are plenty of taxi companies in Lewes and Brighton. Lewes is a much shorter trip, and they will be more familiar with the area, but you’ll probably need to book in advance.
Get dropped off at Charleston House.
It’s a 10 minute walk from Charleston to the party (here). Just head south towards the big hill (see the footpaths in black in the map below)
By car
The party is at Firle Yurts. That’s here.
We have a field for car parking, about 15 minutes’ walk away from the party. To get to the car park:
- Satnav users:
- Use this link in Google Maps.
- If you need a postcode, the closest match is BN8 6NZ, but you’ll need to keep going from there
- Everyone else:
- Head East from Lewes on the A27
- Turn right (south) off the A27 onto Heighton Street. There’s a big green sign visible from the A27 that says “Private Road for Heighton Street Farm Only” – that’s your turning
- If you go past Middle Farm, you’ve gone too far
- On Heighton Street, go past a campsite on your left. Follow the road almost all the way until you have to turn left at the end. Just before you get to the end, look for a yellow car park sign, and turn left through a gate.
If you want to drop stuff off at the campsite before parking, that’s fine, but there are some serious potholes in between the car park and party, so go carefully. We’ll be there the night and morning before.

By bus
A few buses stop at Firle from Brighton or Lewes. Here are the timetables.
The party (here) is 20-30 minutes’ walk from the various Firle bus stops.
